DESCRIPTION:The Torrance Civic Chorale invites you to join us on Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at 8 pm for the final performance of our 58th musical season - We Sing Tomorrow’s Song, under the direction of Irene Apanovitch-Leites. This particular concert will be quite special.<br>Not only will we be singing audience favorites such as What a Wonderful World, Bright Morning Stars and Follow the Drinking Gourd, but we will also perform a world premiere of a composition by Los Angeles-based composer, Diana Woolner. This exciting concert also features a string quartet consisting of four exceptional string players from USC Thornton School of Music.<br><br>Most importantly, our concert will include a very special collaboration with the UCLA Klezmer Ensemble (Dr. Lorry Black, director). This talented group of musicians will bring to life klezmer music from across the Jewish diaspora. Together with the ensemble, Torrance Civic Chorale will perform a number of songs, including Ale Brider, Avinu Malkeynu, Yidl Mitn Fidl, and the timeless audience favorite, Bai Mir Bistu Shein.
