SUMMARY:To Climb a Gold Mountain Film Screening with Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Join Director and Executive Producer Alex Azmi for a screening of his documentary To Climb a Gold Mountain, which has earned multiple accolades including Best Independent Programming at the LA Area Emmy Awards, Platinum World Humanitarian Award, Best Feature Documentary at the Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood, and Golden Awards at the International Film Festival. This film traces the lives of four women, beginning in the 1850s when the first Chinatown appeared in Los Angeles and traveling over 160 years to the 21st century. Through the stories of their lives and a reflection of the times in which they lived, the film relates both the tragic and the triumphant, traces the plots that made Community what it is today, and reveals its heart throughout. This event is free, sponsored by the Friends of the Torrance Library, and no registration is required. For more information, please call the Reference Department at 310-781-7599.
