DESCRIPTION:<h1>TORRANCE ART MUSEUM</h1><h2>MARCH 29 - MAY 24, 2025</h2><h3><a href="https://www.torranceartmuseum.com/body-counts"><strong>MAIN GALLERY: <em>Body Counts</em></strong></a></h3><p>Highlighting how figurative art, in many forms, can reflect on issues of representation, trust, group dynamics, alienation and social capital, <strong><em>Body Counts </em></strong>explores diverse artistic potentials that reflect on what can help maintain, or interrogate, society’s structures, democracy and civil rights.</p><h2 style="font-size: 17.5px;"><br><p><span style="font-size: 15px;">Participating artists: Alison Blickle, Danie Cansino, Amir H. Fallah, Lanise Howard, Justine Otto, Duane Paul, Jose Sanchez III, Meghan Smythe, Haena Yoo</span></p></h2><h3><a href="https://www.torranceartmuseum.com/envirotechnology"><strong>GALLERY TWO: David DiMichele - Envirotechnology</strong></a></h3><p>An immersive light art installation exploring the relationship between environmental issues and technology. The installation will be composed of a linear network of twisted oak branches intertwined with LED light strips that will form a kind of three-dimensional drawing in the interior space of the gallery creating a metaphor for the way technology can exist in harmony with nature rather than obliterating it.</p><p></p><h3><a href="https://www.torranceartmuseum.com/aire-libre"><strong>DARK ROOM: Erin Cooney - <em>Aire Libre</em></strong></a></h3><p>A single-channel video installation about environmental injustice in South Los Angeles made in collaboration with East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice, a community advocacy group based in Commerce and Long Beach.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><div sqs-row"=""><div sqs-col-3="" span-3"=""><div html-block="" sqs-block-html"="" data-block-type="2" id="block-713fe491a2c303b33937"><p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>LOCATION</strong></span><br>Torrance Art Museum<br>3320 Civic Center Drive<br>Torrance, CA 90503</p><p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>HOURS</strong></span><br><em>Tuesday — Saturday<br></em>11am — 5pm</p><p>Operating hours during exhibition dates only.
