DESCRIPTION:The Torrance Civic Chorale presents their annual Spring concert, Mirrors of Culture, on Saturday, April 21, at 8 pm in the James Armstrong Theatre in Torrance. This season’s concert pairs the exquisite harmonies of Haydn, Mendelssohn and Biebl with the colorful melodies, rhythms and styles of music from Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, Argentina and Cuba. The centerpiece of the concert, two versions of Te Deum, epitomize the striking parallels and vivid contrasts between Latin American and European compositions. This unique display of choral works from the Latin American Colonial period through the Beatles will have the audience tapping their feet and dancing in their seats. <br/>Over 80 singers strong, the Torrance Civic Chorale is one of the premier vocal ensembles in the South Bay.
