The City of Torrance Cultural Arts Commission is pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 Excellence in Arts Awards. This year the winners are as follows:

Dance – Christopher Albrecht

Music – Pennyroyal Players

Visual Arts & Design – Estelle DeRidder

Drama & Theatre Arts – Metropolitan Educational Theatre Network

Dr. Tom Rische Arts Education Award – Jim Eninger

Katy Geissert Award – Sue Herbers

The winners will be recognized at a public event on Saturday, October 21 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Toyota Meeting Hall, 3330 Civic Center Drive, Torrance. The event is free to attend but RSVP’s are requested by calling 310-618-2376.

Nominations were accepted from members of the community at large to honor individuals or businesses who have made exceptional contributions to the Torrance arts community. The annual awards program, now in its 40th year, is administered through the Torrance Cultural Arts Commission, an advisory body appointed by the Torrance City Council.
