Western Museum of Flight Celebrity Series: Inside the MiG-21 Fishbed and the MiG 23 Flogger

You’ll hear about the good, the bad and ugly of the two Classic Cold War aircrafts: the Fishbed & the Flogger.

Presenting their case will be Jim “JB” Brown (USAF, Major, ret) who has flown these planes, evaluated both, he is in a unique position to provide a pilot’s perspective on their characteristics, capabilities and limitations. JB’s knowledge reaches far beyond these two classics. Brown is widely considered to have more flying time in stealth aircraft than anyone in the world. He became the first test pilot to reach 1,000 hours of flying time in the F-22. Thru his career, Brown was US Air Force fighter pilot (F-4s, F-5s), graduated Air Force Test Pilot School (TPS) became a test pilot on the A-7, F-15, and several classified prototype aircraft. After separation, Brown worked on "Skunk Works" as a test pilot for the F-117 Nighthawk where he developed mission-critical advanced information systems for the famous stealth aircraft. In 2002, he moved over to the F-22 Raptor program working his way up to Chief Test Pilot of the F-22 program.
