The Cultural Arts Commission has been bestowing Excellence in Arts Awards since 1977. These awards recognize individuals, groups, and corporations who make outstanding contributions to the arts in one of the following categories: Dance; Drama & Theatre Arts; Music; Visual Arts & Design; Literary Arts; and the Dr. Tom Rische Arts Education Award. Additionally, the Katy Geissert Award is made to recognize overall exemplary contributions to the arts.
