* NOTICE: The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) has postponed the 2025 Homeless Count due to the Los Angeles County wildfires. A NEW rescheduled date is set for Thursday, February 20, 2025.
The City of Torrance is looking for volunteers to help with the 2025 Torrance Homeless Count. With your help, we can ensure every unhoused person is counted, which is needed to secure services and housing for them.
The count will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Here's how it works:
- In January, you’ll receive an email asking that you watch a short online training video. It contains important information on what to look for and how to log your sightings so please watch it before attending the Count.
- After checking in at the site, we’ll form teams of 2-4 that will then drive all the roads in their assigned census tract in one vehicle.
- You’ll just be tallying how many unhoused people you see – keeping a respectful distance from them.
- When your team has finished, you’ll return to the deployment site to check out and return the supplies you were provided.
