The first book to explore Asian American car culture, Cruising J-Town traces more than 110 years of Japanese American history in Southern California through hot rods, street racers, gardeners’ trucks, and more. Drawing from the companion exhibition he curated for the Japanese American National Museum, Wang reveals how car culture has shaped identity, creativity, and community across generations.
